22nd October 2016 KC Stadium: The Tigers finally got some shots on target after allowing Stoke to take all the initiative early on. However even if those two shots had netted the longed for win would not have happened.

Phelan continues to dabble with team selection and seems incapable of putting that season opening combination into battle.

His team have conceded 19 goals in the last five EPL games. A staggering statistic to follow such a bright start.

We dropped into the relegation zone with this game, eight league games since we momentarily topped the league.

Both goals from Shaqiri were spectacular and that is the only sympathy I can muster for Phelan and his unhappy band.

Phelan’s men visit Bristol City in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday and then travel to Watford on Saturday. Some players need to stand up and believe they can stay in this league.

Oh, and the advertising board lyrics fiasco is just another embarrassment heaped on the club and supporters by pathetic owners. Will it ever end?

13th August 2016: We knew it could happen, but no one expected it. Football is often unpredictable yes, but this result is against all the odds.

The seeds to the win are in the “everyone together” mold of a small group, the fact that the group have been playing together in pre-season and the undeniable fact that they are good players.

The big worry was that there would be injuries and a few ‘green’ players would take the field.

But the black and amber soldiers held on and at times ran the game….ok a bit strong, but they did hint at that.

Phelan has done himself no harm with this, his tactics being spot on….he would not let the Foxes play the game their way….ie, on the break and when they did manage it, closed them down fast

Diomande (45’+1 minutes), and Snodgrass (57′minutes) got the City goals and in between Leicester got an undeserved penalty by Mahrez on 47′.

Oh, and Mike Dean showed himself to be a useless ref yet again. Hand in your whistle Mike.

Hull City: Eldin Jakupovic, Andy Robertson, Curtis Davies, David Meyler, Tom Huddlestone, Abel Hernandez, Robert Snodgrass, Sam Clucas, Jake Livermore, Adama Diomande, Ahmed Elmohamady. Bench Unused: Dusan Kuciak, Shaun Maloney, Josh Tymon, Jarrod Bowen, Greg Luer, Greg Olley, Josh Clackstone.

Leicester City: Kasper Schmeichel, Luis Hernandez, Danny Drinkwater, Wes Morgan, Ahmed Musa, Jamie Vardy, Andy King (Daniel Amartey 68), Danny Simpson (Leonardo Ulloa 83), Demarai Gray (Shinji Okazaki 68), Riyad Mahrez, Christian Fuchs.
Bench Unused: Ron-Robert Zieler, Ben Chilwell, Marc Albrighton, Bartosz Kapustka.

Oh, and the stats say it all as well….more shots on target, more corners and more possession, not to mention more ‘proper’ goals.

And look at the foul count !!!
