13th February 2014 Thursday – Ankle ligament damage has ruled out Paul McShane for 6 months. The injury was sustained in the home defeat to Southampton on Tuesday evening.
Paul has said “I am out for six months with an ankle ligament injury,”
“I am going in for an operation next Monday and I have to get myself right as soon as I can. I am gutted but I have to get right again and then go again in terms of battling back to fitness.
“It is very frustrating as I was feeling very good, now I have to try and battle back as soon as I can,” he added.
Steve Bruce said after the Southampton game that it (McShane’s ankle) didn’t look good and he is proved right.
Defensive options for the Tigers are getting thin with James Chester and Liam Rosenior both unavailable, and Jack Hobbs sold to Nottingham Forest in the January window.
